If only there was a document where I could look that up in about 10 seconds.

It's JB and a day about LABOR.

That should tell you all you need to know.

I don’t think so. I don’t have my IPad on me but if you search contract for “Special Pay days”...should come up. Top of my head I think it’s..Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years, MLK, Memorial & 4July

That’s what I thought too. But I’m an idiot for not having my iPad with me on my day off. I was too busy with the Joe Q&A session. Unfortunately I know there free hotdogs and ice cream.

I’ve found that keeping a copy of the CBA on my phone, as well as other contract related stuff like contract comparison guides, other CBAs, etc., has been helpful when discussing CBA stuff, answering questions, or any other time I want to look something up and don’t want to dig out my iPad. Also, it’s only a few button pushes at http://www.alpa.org/jbu to get to the CBA link and pull up a copy on your phone if you don’t have it saved. I’m not trying to be a Richard, but it is worth noting that just because you don't have your work iPad with you doesn’t mean you don’t have a lot of easily accessible CBA resources available. It’s probably even easier to pull up the CBA than going to APC and starting a new thread.

That said, the forum is a place where contract stuff should be freely asked and discussed, so JB pilots and non JB pilots alike can get info, and more people can be more fully educated. And if one person is wondering, likely there are others as well.

3.K.3 covers special pay days. There are 6. 1/1, MLK, Jul 4, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Xmas day.

Maybe ask about something that’s misunderstood or confusing in the CBA. Special pay days is about as cut and dry as it gets. Almost like asking what the 8th year Captain Airbus pay-rate is.

I got fooled by FLICA’s warning that I was going to trade a trip that touched Labor Day—I merrily went and assumed that it WAS a double pay day because of that. Didn’t even check. Hopefully MCO on a Cat 4 Sunday night giveth some kind of reward to make up for it.

Stay safe, all.
