JetBlue will require the use of face coverings for all frontline Crewmembers

Masks will be available in the Chief Pilots Office during office hours. Masks/Wipes will be in the vFile room for after hours.

We currently have a limited supply. Please only take just one per day to ensure availability for all who may need them.

Again, where does it say on the flight deck???

It does include pilots, but it is public areas, Terminal etc.

it doesn’t say public areas in Warrens email. It says shared space. That is the cockpit.

“In response, JetBlue will require the use of face coverings for all frontline Crewmembers working in common areas including, but not limited to, airport terminals, breakrooms, galleys, the SOC floor, and other shared spaces”

Doesn’t it seem weird to specifically mention “galleys” and “SOC floor” but not flight deck? Intentionally left gray maybe?

Doesn’t specify flight deck. No one in my chain of command has told to me to wear one on the flight deck. I shall not until directed.

Difference of opinion. I think it’s a little dumb not to wear one but I’m going to be wearing one, just cause you don’t know what you have and not showing any signs of. Thinking about the other people I’m flying with that might have someone close who is immunocompromised etc.

Wouldn’t the requirement of wearing a mask (especially homemade ones) on the flight deck first need to be approved by the FAA? I’m thinking in terms of donning O2 mask and proper seal. I’m not even sure how they’re allowed on the flight deck without some sort of clarification from the Feds. Seems like a possible safety issue. Aside from the fact that Bus guys would be wearing these things for 5-6 hours straight. F that. At any rate, they are not yet required by our management; I’m not wearing one while flying.

FAA did sign off on it. It was in comply a little while ago (when the policy changed).

CDC, ‘medical experts’, politicians, management, etc...just seem to be shooting from the hip every other day. No one really has a clue. I conform to social standards, but this whole thing is getting ridiculous in my opinion.

It is approved by the FAA, reference 2020-BLTN-F015
