OK, I read this in the JFK Chief Pilot update and took it to mean all frontline crew members, i.e. pilots.
JetBlue will require the use of face coverings for all frontline Crewmembers Masks will be available in the Chief Pilots Office during office hours. Masks/Wipes will be in the vFile room for after hours. We currently have a limited supply. Please only take just one per day to ensure availability for all who may need them. It does include pilots, but it is public areas, Terminal etc. |

Again, where does it say on the flight deck???
It does include pilots, but it is public areas, Terminal etc. “In response, JetBlue will require the use of face coverings for all frontline Crewmembers working in common areas including, but not limited to, airport terminals, breakrooms, galleys, the SOC floor, and other shared spaces” |

it doesn’t say public areas in Warrens email. It says shared space. That is the cockpit.

Doesn’t specify flight deck. No one in my chain of command has told to me to wear one on the flight deck. I shall not until directed.

Wouldn’t the requirement of wearing a mask (especially homemade ones) on the flight deck first need to be approved by the FAA? I’m thinking in terms of donning O2 mask and proper seal. I’m not even sure how they’re allowed on the flight deck without some sort of clarification from the Feds. Seems like a possible safety issue. Aside from the fact that Bus guys would be wearing these things for 5-6 hours straight. F that. At any rate, they are not yet required by our management; I’m not wearing one while flying.

CDC, ‘medical experts’, politicians, management, etc...just seem to be shooting from the hip every other day. No one really has a clue. I conform to social standards, but this whole thing is getting ridiculous in my opinion.
