100+ out of 265 sounds ballpark right...

I say yes...

Anyone know when the 220 bid is coming out? I was talking to my wife. We think since it’s going to be parked for a while we should bid it so I can get paid 75 hours to stay at home. Anyone know how senior it’s going to go?

Yes a few of us know how senior it will go. But it’s a secret sorry.

The 220 bid just does not come out. If it's on the annual bid we can bid on it. If it is not on the annual bid then we cannot. That will be in August per the CBA. The company has said it will be on the annual bid.

Parking 100 planes

August is a million years away at this point.

Think about this. It’s only been 6 weeks since the hysteria hit the US. It feels like an eternity.

How many different plans has there been in the last 6 weeks? In the last 2 weeks?

JB is in a unique position that we own a ton of airplanes. We can park them temporarily and see if demand returns to a reasonable level, and react quickly if it does.

The legacies are already making permanent decisions with airplanes that will effect them for years.

United owns 635 of their 777 mainline aircraft. That's about 80%.

Delta owns around 700 of their 900 aircraft. That's about 77%.

JetBlue owns around 210 of 260 aircraft. That's about 80%.

All the data is available in the respective airline 10K filings.

That doesn’t paint the whole picture. When you say owned, most of those that are “owned” are still financed and have payments due. Only about 1/3 of JetBlue’s planes are unencumbered. The rest that are “owned” still have loan payments due. I don’t know what the split is for the legacies on the number of planes that are unencumbered, but AA says it has $10bn worth of unencumbered assets and DL says it has about $20bn worth, for whatever that’s worth. Still, aircraft rent/finance payments are a small percentage of operating costs.

Yea I meant outright owns, no payments.
