I think you are spot on. Even bringing furloughed pilots back, like AA is going to do, will require some sim time. The schoolhouse will be jammed. As well as maintenance to check metal coming out of the desert.

I think you are right! Flights have been definitely fuller. It also doesn't help that Delta is still blocking seats for whatever reason until end of April, making it nearly impossible to commute on them.

Delta is trying to be the "standup right thing to do moral " business. Winning the goodwill of the people so they can say "Well, when everyone else was concerned about money... we cared about your safety.." And the Millions in government cheese.

I was commuting on DL a few weeks ago. Jetway was packed with pax waiting to get on, no social distancing there, even with boarding from back to front. Aircraft was an A220-100. 3x2 config in cattle class. Seat blocked on the 3 seat side, but not on the 2 side, because “it’s not a middle seat”. Stupid! I think demand is coming back quicker than anticipated and I wonder if DL is regretting extending their seat block until end of April!? Most everyone has been full capacity since January, and I believe Jetblue is going back to full service in April with hot drinks/booze.
