Commuting from DC to NYC

Anyone here do this commute? Applying and wondering what this commute is like for anyone doing it, especially on reserve.

Most guys I know from DC do BOS. There will be like a gazillion DCA-BOS flights on B6 soon when biz travel picks back up, allegedly.

Ah ok. I used to fly 121 10-ish years ago, been 135 since so haven't commuted in a while. I know there used to be an hourly or so shuttle from DCA-LGA on US Airways when it existed and I thought American had kept that going.

It’ll likely be back when BOS-DCA shuttle is back. But LGA is a pain to commute to JFK from imo. But if the NEA ends up with a bunch of LGA pairings, I suppose it could work. But the DCA-BOS commute sounds the the most common, for now. Own metal that way too. Either way, good luck.

I do BOS DCA BOS a dozen times a month. The jump seat is almost always occupied lately. Prior to 2020 the jump seat was usually open.

BOS DCA is most often in AA’s jump seat. They have 2x as many flights as we do and thanks to the NEA, that’s the way it’s going to stay. They even have their regionals doing some of the segments. It ain’t own metal anymore.

Interesting I heard we would be doing the bulk of the DCA BOS stuff. However if we don’t they have a bunch of slots to fill (unless the waiver continues)

Because the largest crew member population that does not live in a base lives in the dc area.

Add in IAD is gone and BWI is suspended plus we cut a chunk of our flights and we’ll, it’s jumpseat time. :)

Look at the November schedule onward. Hourly service BOS-DCA 5am-8pm on an E190. 16 a day. AA has zero (but they sell all the B6 metal flights on their website).

Wait no AA at all? Yikes
