PSA. No matter what your opinion is, unless you own enough NK stock to swing the vote (spoiler: you don’t) your only voice that matters is our joint one in supporting ALPA for a great JCBA. We are all on the same side. I didn’t apply at JB or F9, for my reasons. That is in the past, whatever happens, it is us versus them, not you against me.

Bingo.

The pilots don’t hate each other we are just BSing about a merger. I thing some are very emotionally attached.

Here is my view.

If we merger fine. I want a fair integration where everyone is mad :) but what I really want is a great joint CBA

If we don’t merge fine, I still want a great CBA

Interesting everyone thinks that ACY will close when it's touted as a huge money maker for NK (per second hand sources).

All I know is please continue to grow MCO ! (totally selfish I know)

Whatever my two cents worth is, I don't want to work for Indigo partners.

How many crews are based in ACY? I could see it surviving as a co-base with EWR.

JB has been pursuing NK for the last several years, according to Robin Hayes. Spirit's BOD refused to engage.

As for Spirit bases, last time I checked Spirit had a base in DTW, and was opening ATL??? I haven't looked for a couple days, but does Delta still have an ATL operation?

And if you look at JB's infographic on the combined Spirit+JB network it shows a doubling of flights in LAX. While LAX isn't a Spirit crew base, it does offer a doubling of JB's footprint in LAX, which is a base for both JB and Delta...

According to Spirits CEO, the first time it was ever discussed was seven weeks after the F9/NK announcement. Somebody’s lying.

JetBlue Responds to Spirit Airlines Board Recommendation
NEW YORK (May 19, 2022) – JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) today issued the following statement in response to the Spirit Airlines Board recommendation:
It’s no surprise that Spirit shareholders are getting more of the same from the Spirit Board. The Spirit Board, driven by serious conflicts of interest, continues to ignore the best interests of its shareholders by distorting the facts to distract from their flawed process and protect their inferior deal with Frontier.
Regarding regulatory approval, Spirit would have you ignore the current regulatory climate to think that approval of their Frontier deal is assured. That is simply not true. Both deals are subject to regulatory review, and both deals have a similar risk profile. Spirit shareholders recognize that and are showing great interest in hearing more about our superior offer and the regulatory commitments and protections we have made, including a reverse break-up fee.
Frontier offers less value, more risk, and no regulatory commitments, despite a similar regulatory profile. We are confident that as we continue to share the facts directly with Spirit shareholders, they will be even more perplexed than they already are about why the conflicted Spirit Board has refused to negotiate with us in good faith. We believe that the Spirit shareholders will make their views known by voting against the Frontier offer and tendering their shares into our offer.

that actually links up with what Robin hates said. B6 could have been trying to discuss it and spirits ceo only discussed after the $33 offer was made public.

I’m almost positive that had B6 EVER made a formal offer in the 5 years they were supposedly contemplating this , it by law would have been required to been brought to the shareholders. Not to mention had B6 made an offer and our management unilaterally swept it under the rug they woulda brought to the publics attention immediately. Doesn’t pass the smell test at all . No formal offer was made until 7 weeks after another deal was in place .

to me it’s like looking at a girl across the dance floor and contemplating asking her to dance .you never did. Someone else is dancing with her now and you try and but in. ‘ I was gonna ask you to dance for the longest time’ yeah .. but ya didn’t

Yawn. This is a business deal…not a dance, or a date, desperation, or some other emotion-filled thing. The timing hasn’t been right for a variety of reasons. We don’t know the extent to which jetblue has been looking at this deal…did they ask for DD materials 5 years ago, didn’t get them, so couldn’t make an offer, but didn’t want to show their cards publicly? Was it the finance situation? Was it trying to work the NEA (which was being crafted before covid). We don’t know. Now there isn’t a choice. It’s now or never. Not sure why this concept is so difficult to understand for some…RH publicly said as much regarding the timing. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t mention anything about girls and dances, just the business reasons associated with “why now.”

Agreed. I think with the shareholder rights provision Spirit enacted when the stock hit $8 or so a share indicates there was Jetblue activity at least as far back as late 2019 or 2020.
