Ord - bos

Anyone do this commute? Thinking of moving to ORD for the wife’s career and have an interview soon. Seems easy on paper at least.

I guess it’s worth mentioning that the Spirit acquisition would create an ORD base. They’ve stated they intend to keep most of those new bases open. Apparently the lack of bases is the number 1 reason pilots cite as the reason for leaving (according to the CP at recurrent). Anyway, aside from that, ORD-BOS shouldn’t be a bad commute.

ROFL. I love how stupid they think we are. Yes, I'm always hearing "I would love to come to Jetblue, but you don't have enough bases."

Its clear though that they intend to move heaven and earth, and spend any amount it takes to avoid paying us.

Imagine pairings starting in ACY with a limo to EWR

Um driving to work is a pretty big reason to stay where you are? It would definitely slow attrition.

I'm not saying more bases wouldn't help. Our current bases absolutely suck and are generally all junior bases at other airlines, but they could fix that tomorrow with virtual bases in many of the cities we fly to.

What I'm laughing at is that he told you with a straight face that its the number one reason for attrition. Its not. I'm going to blow your mind here, but NK is having the same attrition problem we have even with all of their bases. I can just imagine hearing an FO say "I got a job offer at Delta but I'm not going because B6 has so many bases to choose from!" LOL.

Management just don't want to ever hint that our compensation and career expectations absolutely blow compared to the big three. I don't know if you are new here or not, but ignore what anybody in management tells you at recurrent. They are almost always full of *******.

I heard the same story at recurrent… “We try to do exit interviews with every pilot leaving JetBlue and out of hundreds of pilots, nobody ever mentions pay being an issue.”

Just had to go through that drivel myself. CP was too “busy” to come in so we had a virtual 10 minute zoom meeting… optics aside, I honestly think CP’s actually don’t know anything more then the average line pilot when it comes to the inner dealings at b6.

Career expectation is the obvious number one answer in reality. The Spirit base structure and a JCBA that compares to any legacy will certainly help. It’s just hard for me to envision this management being able to efficiently run an airline that size and pay the pilots accordingly. Where’s the money coming from at this point? Firing AB is at least a step in the right direction. More will need to go. Amateur hour is over.

Is there anyone in the C-suite at JetBlue with merger experience?
