Default First class to Europe

With our zed fare privileges, what are the best airlines to fly to Europe on? I know we can get first class on American, but what about United, Lufthansa, LOT, etc? Thanks in advance.

LOT, AA and B6 would be your best cheapest bets…. You also have TAP and La Compagnie, UA is a crapshoot with availability up front and if you are accommodated in the back you don’t get a refund. And technically it’s Business Class (J) not First (F).

regarding UA. I use them a lot and normally book business, they have always reimbursed me if I don’t get business. Just follow the instructions in idtravel for reimbursement. Their app is very accurate to show seats availability for the next 2 days and how many waiting for business.

We only get a business class reciprocal on a few airlines. Basically we don't have enough mint seats to offer people at other airlines, so most do not allow us access.
I've had some success on LH, but it required copious amounts of chocolates for the cabin crew.

So if there is an open business seat on UA we will get it? I think I have heard stories of not being able to get business even if there is a seat available.

I think TAP is on the list. Other than that I don't know. If myidtravel allows you to book business, then they are on the list.
Outside of that, you can get lucky with the lead FA. Last time I got lucky was on Iceland air. But that was only a shot flight within Europe. The transatlantic business class were all full, so I wasn't able to test my luck out.

If you list and pay for zed business on UAL, you get it. Are you saying you’ve heard of United not honoring their nonrev agreement with B6?

I don’t recall which airline it was but I have heard there have been issues…like the plane departing with empty business seats. I don’t recall the details so disregard.

Has anyone done Lufthansa?
