Default Commuting from central PA

Good day,
I was wondering if anyone lives in the northeast can give some advice on commuting to the bases. I’m living in Denver current and am looking at moving back east to central PA. What would commuting be like? My options would be a hour train ride to Philly to catch a flight to JFK/ Boston. Drive 45 mins to Harrisburg to ride on a flight to Boston, drive 2.5 hours to EWR, or drive 3.5 to JFK. Just wondering if anyone else have any commutes like this and if it is doable.
also, EWR might be the most practical to drive to and so I’m wondering what the reserve times are there? Thanks in advance.

2.5 hour drive to ewr would be the way to go. I wouldn’t bid day trips but a 2.5 hr drive still beats commuting by air in most cases.

It would be worth it to live that close to Knoebels. 2.5 hr drive to EWR.

There are a few guys I know based on EWR who commute from central PA. I believe one guy even comes in from Williamsport.

Default Commuting

There are PA, MD and DE pilots who commute to BOS from PHL, drive to EWR or JFK.
I have a 2.5 hr drive to JFK from central Delaware and over the years have thought hard about switching to BOS and commuting from PHL (40 min drive). However, with EWR opening, I now have a 1.4 hr drive. The key to driving to JFK is to bid trips that depart/arrive outside of the rush hour period...basically the non-commutable trips. I've heard the PHL/BOS commute is reliable, and have friends who've done that for 10+ years. Good luck!

thanks! It does look like Boston is all around an easier airport to get to as it’s a major city with no other major airlines having bases there (I believe).
