Question Will merger cause them to fail like Pan-Am?

An interesting idea to ponder, this video makes comparisons between the proposed JB merger/acquisition and Pan-Am and National Airlines:

Singke handedly the dumbest video. The guy who made even said himself in the comments he didn't know anything about past mergers and the doj. With that being said what's the latest and greatest. As far as I can figure robin and co are thinking this is all going as planned more or less

This guy has no idea what he’s talking about. Forget whether or not his conclusion is correct, NOTHING has been “blocked”. The DOJ had brought an antitrust case against JetBlue, that’s it. It will be litigated in court and a decision will be made by a judge.

I actually think this might be helpful. The idea that if the DOJ f@rts around sufficiently, they themselves might be responsible for a loss of competition among the airlines, might resonate with the judge who will be hearing the case.

I think it already has. The DOJ wanted to push the trial off until January. The judge, knowing there is a latest closing date set the trial for October.

JB has stated publicly numerous times that they’ve prepared for and fully expected this exact timeline. Now, I don’t how this is gonna play out, but if there’s anything I’ve learned while working here, it’s JB management knows how to make money, and they tend to get what they want.
