I talked with the Airtran hiring folks at an Airinc conference last year. They do not have any military conversion. Kinda unusual but that's the way they do it.

I'm a P-3 guy myself. Six years in Brunswick, then reserves (still in Brunswick).

I've been at JetBlue since April. I really like it. Unfortunately upgrades are slowing down. Especially tough for the 190 guys. We have slowed are growth to catch up with the original very aggressive growth plan. We're still gonna grow about 15% per year which ain't bad. We're going to do fine in the long run. I don't see us trying to buy an airline anytime soon. Now that's aggressive growth.

Anyone know if they use any special conversions for military? Haven't seen anything on their website or any of the forums or gouge.

I'm retired Navy with plenty of PIC time in P-3 and T-34. Currently at American Eagle and ready to move on after getting my feet wet at a Regional.

thanks

Yeah you should be applying to one of the airlines that have recently gone through, or are still in, bankruptcy.

A new low for narrow body passenger airline pilots, obviously.

Here's a bit of info you might find helpful in making a decision.

Pilot/Management relationship at AirTran is as bad as you'll find anywhere. Management has total disregard for the contract and rules by intimidation. Anyone who tells you otherwise obviously doesn't know the contract well enough to realize when they're being taken advantage of.

I think flytank is drunk on Kool-Aid or just a newbie, maybe both.

Good luck on your decision.

Because being an airline pilot used to mean something, not any more.

Don't forget to check the mags before takeoff there junior.
