Jetblue's medical/presciption drug plan is beyond pathetic and management simply doesn't care. You will be laying yourself wide open for major, major out-of-pocket expenses.

Plan on never being home for christmas or thanksgiving for many, many, many years. Even if you become relatively senior in your seat/base our staffing is such that you get your monthly schedule and it's "tough crap. You have ONE DAY off between December 24th and December 31st."

If you would like to plan on getting a summer vacation awarded to you so you can plan on taking a vacation with your kids, look elsewhere. Our vacation distribution policy is such that even very senior pilots can't get a summer vacation slot awarded. Senior management told the pilots regarding this matter: "Everyone has to make sacrifices to work here."

If QOL really matters, look elsewhere.

I agree with most of your post and have sent in a card for obvious reasons, but this ^ is simply not true.
Two and a half years at JB, 85% down the list, and I have Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's off this year and had two of the three off the previous two years.

Same here. The big three off. ( just over two years)
Almost the whole week of Thanksgiving.
I do have to commute up late Christmas day but I'll take it.
In the end we do have to fix vacation both from the amount of slots and how we bid. But we do work for an airline I guess if we wanted guaranteed holidays off we should have become teachers.

How about a guy commuting up from ATL?
 

I've got my app in. I'd be commuting from ATL. What east coast base & equipment would yield the shortest reserve? Days off on reserve? Estimated time on reserve? Average days off with the most junior line? Commutability? I guess, for me, it's about Days Off, Commutability, Pay, Benefits in that order. Thanks for your opinions guys.

Boston E190 has probably the shortest reserve. I was on reserve for 5 months, and in general you want long stretches of reserve due to how the system works. As a junior line holder most of my lines are 17-18 days off, with 75-80 hours of credit, working weekends. For November I had 18 days off, 83 hrs credit, and Thanksgiving off, but I had to fly non commutable trips to get that so I'm burning days off to get to work.

I ask because I live 1:30 from BOS, so QOL would probably be pretty good on the commute end of things.
Still waiting to decide on my job offers from Delta, United, Airways and American. <sarcasm>
