My guess is we take the 28 or so remaining 220s scheduled for delivery this year and next year and push the rest out to 2030+ with the NEOs. At that point maybe start retiring CEOs again. That also gives more time to the acquiring company to decide what to do with the order book.

I heard the company wanted to defer some 220s, but there was language in the deal with Airbus that either prevented it or made it very expensive with penalties.

Yeah. Wouldn’t surprise me. But, everything’s negotiable. I’m sure Airbus would rather have an agreement with a non-bankrupt jetblue than a jetblue that’s in ch11. Probably a lot cheaper for AB to renegotiate those terms directly pre-BK if it helps avoid it by allowing deferrals than to renegotiate it in a bankruptcy court if it came to that. But who knows.

Yeah, the general theme from management is stagnation until 2026 and then growth after that point (assuming profitability has returned). We are overstaffed and even with attrition are looking at a surplus of pilots for a while.

As I understand it, attrition is actually pretty low, especially now that the big 4 aren't just hiring anyone with a pulse.

It'll be at least 2026 before we're hiring again, I'd think.

Rumor from a month aguh. I believe it's from recurrent class when flight ops mgmt usually gives an update. Attrition is at 100 per year. Stagnation until mid 2026, growth should start again by then. The number thrown around was overstaffed by 300 pilots. Hiring window won't open again until late 2025. This is an ESTIMATE.

With Alaska/Hawaiian and AA already resuming hiring and expecting DL and UAL to follow suit, I expect our attrition numbers will rise.

Especially if they close LAX.

As soon as legacies start hiring again there won't be attrition here, there will be exodus. The bottom 1000 here have absolutely no reason to stay at all.
