Jet Blue's web site makes me blue
Being a freight dog for FedEx, allows me the opportunity to sort of sit back and read and follow the other forums on this board. And since Jet Blue does not serve Connecticut, I've had absolutely no dealings with the airline or the flight crews, except for reading what is written here. However, at lunch today, the first officer I am currently flying with told me that he likes flying on you guys, and so I decided to do a little research into possibly flying on Jet Blue.
At FedEx, if a trip starts or ends with a deadhead, we are allocated a "bank" of money for that trip. The amount banked, is the amount that the company would pay to deadhead me from the last (or to the first) live leg Either to or from my base (in this case, Memphis.) Being that I live on the East Coast, there are times when that bank is just not enough for me to get home, so I might have to either jumpseat back to Memphis on FedEx, or buy a lower class of ticket (i.e., first down to coach) to make it all work out. I've even bought a ticket on South West, because it was the least expensive fare I could find. Anyway, I have a trip that ends in Fresno later this month and went to your web site to see what I could see.
When I call up all the cities that you serve and select both the departure city as well as the arrival city, then fill in the travel date and the number of travelers, and then hit the "search for flights" button, if your system can't fulfill my request, it will come back with the following screen:
"Something's not right.
We can't find flights to match your request. This may be because:
1. The flights are full on the date you selected. Search again?
2. We're not selling seats yet on the date you selected. Currently, we're selling seats for all destinations through September 04, 2007. Please check back again soon for flights after that date.
3. You've selected a city we don't serve yet.
We're planning the following new service:
* Boston, MA (BOS) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) starts March 3, 2007.
* White Plains, NY (HPN) to Orlando, FL (MCO) starts March 27, 2007.
* White Plains, NY (HPN) to West Palm Beach, FL (PBI) starts April 2, 2007.
* White Plains, NY (HPN) to Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL) starts April 2, 2007.
* New York, NY/JFK to San Francisco, CA (SFO) starts May 3, 2007.
* Boston, MA (BOS) to San Francisco, CA (SFO) starts May 3, 2007.
For a list of scheduled flights, please refer to the timetable."
That was very frustrating to me as I'd have to go back to the original input screen and input ALL the data again. This time selecting a different city, if that was the problem.
You might suggest to your information systems department that they might not include cities that you don't fly to (yet), as selectable options, on the input screen.
Sorry for the long post.

Jetjok,
The program is not supposed to allow options that will not work. For example you can't get to Cancun from Orlando because the first flight out of Orlando doesn't get in to JFK early enough so Cancun isn't even selectable as the destination. In your case it sounds like you still have option available, but something just ain't working right. I will forward what you have written here to IT. If you care pass along the particular cities (PM me if you want to), that might help fix the problem.
