Ok, there is no logical explanation for it taking this long. By the time you request something its already outdated. I heard a rumor recently of people having bots to pick up high quality trips. Any thoughts that they might be freezing up the system?

So here goes:

Has anyone been able to split up a 6 day reserve block into 2 separate 3 days? I bid a few days off for a family event but wasn't granted via the bid, and this appears to be the only way I can work it without using PTO. I was stymied during round 1 because when I requested to move the last day of the 6 day block, it got denied because Flica perceived the day I moved as a lone reserve day. My results tab says "CS: Lone reserve periods not allowed on ___" even though I left the box/ unchecked that says something like "process each request seperately."

The second and third days were rejected for similar reasons, with the message "CS:Lone reserve periods not allowed on _____,Lone reserve periods not allowed on _____."

Is what I am trying to do impossible, or did I just not check the correct buttons?

I've done it several times so it should work. Are you trying to move the three days together all in one request? Sounds like you are trying to do it one day per request which will give you the one day error. On one single request, enter the three days you want to move and then the three days you want to move it to.

also you've to watch the rules in the FSM. You have to have two days off on either side of the days on. You have to have a minimum of three days on in a block together. Finally the days you are trying to get off have to be "green" on the reserve coverage matrix.

Don't move a day at the time, move them all in one single request

I've gotten a request sent within one second of coming out of the waiting room on first come first served and someone else has gotten it. Chances of someone being online at that time and requesting that trip within one second of me doing the same? PowerBall anyone?

You'd be surprised. Coming out of the waiting room is like lions charging towards meat.

Things like your ISP ping, browser configuration, make a difference of a few seconds and that's all that's required for someone to beat you.

I don't think there are bots being used like we used to see. But we do have lots of guys sitting in crashpads pressing 'refresh' all the time with nothing better to do in their lives. The big bid statuses like JFK 320 are the hardest to pick up good trips. So many eyeballs watching that opentime pot.

Not true. Only request that are denied due to illegalities have to checked by a human. Example. There are 400 request, the system gets through 5 and the next is denied due to not enough rest between pairings. A human, and yes just one human working all the bases FCFS that day and also dealing with real time issues has to look at it. It pauses the system and does not unpause it until he clears it. Then 5 request later another illegal request. Sometimes it just sits there for a long time on pause. They could get more than one guy, and pilots could also stop making request that they know are illegal.

I tend not to stalk it after the windows close. I'll look every now and then out of boredom and sometimes get lucky. If I've got commutability and descent block that's acceptable. Even if it's Detroit-Newark, I'll let it ride. Well, I do try and trade out of the 3 day POS, STI, or SDQ for something like SJC, but hey it's got a free breakfast with smoked lox and bagels. And for $5 you can go work it off at the gym at San Jose State University. Although, the coeds keeping asking who's dad I am or what class I teach. Go figure...

There's an opportunity cost of stalking it 24/7. Ping. Ping. Ping.

Decent block. Not descent block. Typo is driving me crazy.

I fully believe Bots are being used for the first come first serve window . Not for normal trip trades through out the month but from the last window yes . Ok so waiting room opens , I request 9 swaps or pick up etc , the same guy gets 6 of the trips , no way he can beat me to all 6 , sure maybe a few but the mouse doesn't move quick enough to request them all before j even get a have to request one !?!?! I have been told on the line that bots are being used for this exact purpose . Same 10 dudes always snag them anyways . If this is true dudes got zero respect from me . Straight steeling from your pilot group .

I have no problem if a dude wants to have zero life and refresh all day . That's called level playing field , but bots are not . They are an advantage from the rest of us ...

Rant over

Rsv fo bos 320

I am nearing the completion of my first year at B6, and I'm still on RSV (not complaining...happily employed), the move up lines were awarded to guys/girls in RSV who have been here (I'm assuming 2+ years).
Is that what I should plan on? RSV for 2 years or so? Any advice/data points would be greatly appreciated!
