Good question. I believe AMR gave our ALPA reps an ultimatum, waive scope or we will waive it for you since they forced us into bankruptcy and voided our collective bargaining agreement with an 1149 (?) filing.

I too believe that is close to what happened and your local reps, not apla national waived it. That decision was made at a local level and given that choice it and those reps, it would have happened no matter what your union afiliation. Like someone said, make sure that you have good local reps. Take a look in the mirror when you are looking to take the blame for that fiasco

767,

I agree with the spirit of your posting. But I DID VOTE to recall my local rep because of his position on the merger and yes he was recalled. I DID pay my dues to ALPA National who was our bargaining agent and who in a telephone conversation from Duane Woerth to our reps, said the show's over take what they give you without recourse and then hung up on them. I DID pay $2000 dollars towards legal counsel for litigation. Finally, I am not a member of the APA who architected our seniority integration. And "No" our local union never signed the seniority integration with the APA. I'm not sure what else I could have done short of buying an uzi. Any suggestions for our pilot group ?

Again, I agree with the spirit of your post, but to blame 2400 pilots for losing all their seniority plus two months after the merger date is only telling a tenth of the story.

With respect,

FF

Yep, the only part of ALPA that JB pilots love is the jumpseat!!!!!!

There's never a shortage of ALPA pilots jumpseating on us either.

Unions are part of the problem - not part of the solution.

ALPA is worthless. Anyone who believes that all you have to do is vote in a Union and all problems will be solved are kidding themselves.
Here at JetBlue we can fix any problem in 6 month that would take a Union 6 years to negotiate.
Anybody who hired on with JetBlue knew we don't have a Union. If you don't like it the way it is then quit, you whiners.

Gman, you guys did a great job fixing those -190 rates. If D & D tell you to eat a $hit sandwich, all you can do is chow down.

nightfreight 02-17-2007 06:05 PM

Nah, I work at Fedex.....

A330Checkairman 02-17-2007 06:08 PM

what is your beef with B6?

Your history at Fedex with ALPA is tenuous at best. Is your life better with ALPA? I am just curious.....
