SWA is not a stepping stone. A few pilots may leave SWA for another airline but that doesn't mean the airline is a stepping stone. Jetblue IS a stepping stone airline and that is part of management business plan. |
You are correct!

There is no comparison between swa and bluejet attrition levels.
Your point is not valid at all. The incidence at frontier and bluejet are similar and the macro reason is the same. Bottom feeder airline. How many in the next class plan to leave.? If it is all I wish them good luck |

Of the 600 rumored to be hired at SWA in 2017 then that would mean only 150 are for growth and the other 450 are for attrition. And of those 450 newly hired pilots 1/2 will be onto greener pastures in less than 2 years. And in order for 450 to show to class SWA will have to offer 700 pilots class dates. Yep SWA is a stepping stone airline. Bluesh!t. |

Frontier has a training contract because they ARE a stepping stone and they know it.

Yep SWA is a stepping stone airline. Bluesh!t. Great so they are not as large of a stone as we are. But you and I both know they have an issue as well. Is it as large no but there is one. It's 2017 the airline world has changed. The big 3 offer retirements (swa is a 12-15 year upgrade) a totally diffrent route map and now great contracts as well as wide-body's)Nobody is saying your SWA is bad just that they will have the same problem that we do. That problem is not as severe thanks to their contract(which is what I have be saying) but even that won't stop guys from leaving or not showing up to class. But here I will end this for you. SWA=AMAZING JETBLEW=SUCKS Problem is we work for JetBlue...:( |

The column on the spreadsheet maybe labeled the same but the frequency determines if there is a problem with the underlying condition of the employer or was it simply a personal preference. I thought a CBA would fix our attrition problem? |

I thought a CBA would fix our attrition problem? I even said guys would still leave to go fly big planes and you told me that was a management talking point. I have said many times and you know this that the ELT has a problem and will most likely dork this up. So what number does personal preference=a problem? And do you know the SWA numbers? Again this is easy. blewjet=sucks....we have attrition but people that leave SWA are just going by personal preference. SWA=awesome But here we are both wearing blue shirts. Oh well. |
