Get new winds every hour or so and fly at the recommended altitudes on the 74 when possible. I think little things do help

While I understand the intent of your comment, you do realize those winds are only updated every 6 hours, so if you request winds every hour you are just wasting time and satellite bandwidth.
At a global level, the winds aloft are updated with a new forecast every 6 hours. For North America, Europe and Australia, the forecasts are updated every hour. The time resolution for the global forecasts is every 3 hours through 30 hours (ei: 00Z, 03Z, 06Z, 09Z). |
Somewhere in our the AOM it says to uplink new winds every hour. I do it every time I do a fuel check.
