A sleeping bag liner isn’t a bad investment either !!

Anyone know when the hiring window will open again?

Straight from the horses mouth: There is no computer algorithm to filter applicants. Every single application is looked at with human eyeballs. The small group of people who do this don’t have the ability to sort through the inevitable thousands of applications that would flood in with an open application window. The plan is to hire off of internals for the forseeable future. Not the answer that you want to hear.......I know. BUT.....the plan is always the plan....until it isn’t the plan anymore. Best of luck to you.

Boeing type rating still a hard requirement?

I was in training this past week. Here is what I gather their hiring pyramid looks like. (this is from observation. I have no direct knowledge) The most competitive people right now have 777/787 type ratings or lots of previous Boeing glass time. The next group or possibly equal to the 777 typed people are previous Kalitta Air employees who left on good terms and are less than a year separated from the company and flew the 747 or 767. This is followed by previous employees who left longer than a year ago. After that you are probably going to need at least one internal recommendation to get a call. As stated above, we are not hiring thousands or even hundreds and they literally have hundreds or maybe thousands of people wanting jobs. It is most likely going to take something from the above list to catch the eye of the very busy couple of humans looking through that stack of resumes. On the other hand, they don't charge an application fee so what does it hurt to apply. One never knows. Perhaps your name sounds familiar to someone and they take a look. Maybe someplace you worked in the past is familiar, or your address. Who knows what may pop out at the person sorting resumes. That's the beauty of a human doing the selection as opposed to a soulless computer algorithm. Good Luck. I've been there and I know how tough this current situation can be.

Thank you very much for the info. I'm in the final category that you listed (internal rec only). Have you heard of any of those getting interviews? Thanks again.
