Another dumb question, are you guys paid monthly, bi-monthly, every week??? Just trying to wrap my head around calculating DC into a 401k, plus my contribution and IRS limitations. This is now a concern of mine?!?! Are you maxing out on these limitations?

bi-weekly pay of 29.53 hrs [ (64hrs x 12) / 26 pay periods

the second pay check of the month (unless you don’t turn in your per diem sheet on time) will also have your per diem and any hrs in excess of 64.

Unless you are planning to contribute post-tax to the traditional 401k side you will have nothing to worry about when it comes to the company contributions causing you to hit any IRS limits.

The IRS income limit for 2021 is $290,000.

290,000 * 6% = $17,500 which the max the company can put in based on a 6% DC

Your pre-tax contributions are limited to $19,500 (plus 6,500 catch-up if over 50). Your individual contributions will stop at the individual limits unless you specify that you want to keep contributing on a post-tax basis (which I do not know if the plan allows).

The max combined limit for 2021 is $58,00 (plus 6500 catch-up).

We do have a Roth option but I am not sure if the plan allows a Roth Conversion of post-tax $$ to the Roth plan (ie back-door) or not. Someone else might know.

Thanks for the details Gollum.

I know a guy who may be training on the 767 fleet soon. Is it a good fleet to be on? What are the pros and cons of being on that fleet? How long is seat lock and the ability to bid another fleet if desired?

Ave8tor218 07-03-2021 09:38 PM

It is the less-desirable airplane of the three, but its only a 2 year seat lock from date of your line check

Pros: 99% domestic+Canada (YHM/YVR). For area of operation currency they typically operate an ANC-NRT and CVG-BRU/AMS/EMA trip every six months. Not stuck in quarantine hotels. Short legs.

Cons: Min rest transcons with hub turns (LAX-CVG 4 hour sit-GSO-RIC, min rest and back the other direction). Mostly night flying. Rarely break guarantee, and if you do its been a tiring month of flying.

I got a call last Friday the 2nd and was given an interview date of the 13th. I was told to expect a follow up email with the details for the interview but I haven't gotten anything yet. I take it since you already know where you are staying that you got your email. How long after they called you did you get the follow up email?

things get lost in email and spam folders IMHO you need to follow up ASAP.

you need to follow up

Emails get lost etc, if you want to interview, you need to follow up and make sure you are still on the list.

Hello guys... Are there still pilots at K4 that basically commuted from EHAM/EBLG (if living in Europe) or VHHH (if living in Asia)? If so, how hard it is to have scheduling start/finish your tip or you start/finish your flying at one of those destinations? Years pass I know of a few pilots that commuted from Thailand and the Philippines via VHHH, and those that live around Europe commuted from EHAM/EBLG because there was a flight every day to those airports. Yes, I know there is no such "official" language in your CBA; just wandering if this is still happening and if it is possible now? Any detail information would be appreciated, Thanks.

Those of you that had someone walk your resume in, how long between the time it was walked in and the time you got a call?

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 02:44 PM.
