What is your background and flight experience? Just curious what is drawing interviews. Thanks!

They hired about 50 from one regional the last two days.

Yes. Coming back to get more from the same regional next month.

Is there a way to update the actual application after submitting? Or just done through email resume attachment updates essentially? Thanks again

I suggest you read the first post on page one.

Flew supplemental for years doing the 18-12 schedule on the 767. Then went to regional and I’m captain now there. I miss the block of days out schedule though. Also had a rec on file.

I did, several times. It says:

"To update your application send an email to [email protected]"

Hence my question, it's not really updating the application itself, is it? I saw you responded to someone in the recent past that you didn't think a person could update the app after submitting, I'm just making sure, thanks

You can't update flight time through ADP website. You can however send an updated resume through said email address.

Thanks Riverside, that's what I thought. Anyone's name in particular I should put in the greeting of the email rather than generic?

Generic is fine. I don't know which of the HR ladies that view the resumes.

It makes sense, once a regional pilot experiences true home basing and a two week vacation every month, they don't want to go anywhere else.

Yeah, I couldn't interview this month but hoping to get a spot next month. My wife moves around due to her job, so home basing would be ideal for me.

Forgive me if this is buried in the old thread, I can't seem to find the answer to this one. I applied to what I believe was a 747 FO job posting. That post seems to now be gone and now I see a 767 job posting. Should I apply to both? I don't want to seem like I'm trying to spam them.

Checkers21 08-10-2018 07:40 AM

How many of these 777’s do we plan on getting? I really hope they don’t hire a bunch of nerds to sit right seat in that thing.

Correct. Though ASA doesn't really exist anymore.

I don't know what the secret is, I am starting to wonder if my own rec does more harm than good? My strategy was to get hired before the new contract knowing full well that once the new contract was passed, would have a harder time... I can imagine Spirit is more selective now too, along with Omni, allegiant, etc. It's basic supply and demad.

Lots of former ACMI and Mil with some regional folks mixed in. You are not overqualified. Any multi-jet PIC?

No multijet pic but 3 boeing types including the 75/76 and almost 4 years experience working acmi especially the dhl system right here in cvg.. heavy international and etops experience also..

You need TPIC. They love TPIC.

Atrasaty 08-10-2018 05:26 PM

K4 is the ONLY airline in this segment that has operational stability. They will reap the rewards as a result. The pilots fought very long and hard for a contract and Connie was smart enough to see that an agreement would pay in spades with the current climate. Old school cunning beats Harvard MBA yet again.

You know though, if you are ABX and simply not a CA due to the long upgrade time, that could be acceptable. If you could of upgraded a long time ago and chose to be a career FO, they probably won't look at you. They have a saying, "we hire captains."

Well I was a career FO at 3 regionals not by choice so anything is possible. 12 years of that. Crazy how things have changed since I was hired 2 years ago as far as mins! Now in the middle of upgrade on the 767! Got hired into the 767. And don't show up like billy bad@ss you will get owned no matter the fleet. Top tip!

767 is like flying an Atari with Dodge Hellcat power! Don't rely on the automation to bail you out. This airplane is hands on and will keep you honest!

Unfortunately that is not true....ATI seems quite happy with a horible contract and willing to work for alot less than most 767 pilots but unfortunately for them there is no increase in Amazon and the scope language ABX has prevents them from flying 767 domestic except for 1 aircraft...

Thanks goodness for our Scope. Otherwise you would be stealing everything from ABX. Remember ABX Holdings bought Cargo Holdings International back in 2008. Peter Fox changed the name to ATSG when he attempted a take over from Hete, but it failed. ABX Air is the original airline of the holding corp.

I take your point...however ATI do not have recruitment/retention stability. I doubt they would be able to hire enough to fill any void ATSG would like to create by winding down ABX. Top to bottom only K4 have stability and the capability to take advantage of the current market.

Well considering both sims are down for the month September in YIP. Might be awhile.

kolt66 08-11-2018 07:34 PM

Do you have any reserve only lines at K4? If so, are you able to get more days at home generally by being awarded one of those lines?

They're sending everyone to Miami. No training in December, however. 3-4 weeks is the norm right now.

My friend at WGA spends most of the time at home on long call rsv. K4 has you for 16 days, do not expect to spend any of it at home unless you live at one of our frequent layovers like ANC, even then, you should treat it as a lucky coincidence.
