The pilots of K4 have been working under their NEW contract since 12/16. They will not even begin section six openers on their NEXT contract for a few years yet. The poster was addressing the fact that your question indicates that you have done no research on the airline at all. Many on this forum will answer your questions but you need to at least put a modicum of effort into framing your questioning.

Pilots are all just mean, A-Holes.

I got on a Southwest thread the other day, thinking I might apply, and I just asked what type of airplanes they were flying and how long it would take to hold International or, to get a Widebody slot.... and well, they were less than nice to me.

:(

Southwest is NERD Central... of course those dorks would have a conniption fit when you’re asking them about time to sit sideways on a heavy...

I wonder if many of them yearn to fly something other than a 737? Or not do 5 legs in a day?

How do days off between trips work, if you let's say accidentally bid the wrong trip and have a back to back?

I suppose it's a case by case basis and working with scheduling. Or can you say you want your 5 days off between trips?

Well, there’s a couple things that can happen:
1. You fly until you die
2. You fly until you time out, and then they either use you for ferry duty, sim support, or send you home.
3. You email the head of scheduling and beg her for mercy and hope that she’s in a good mood.

If you go home though, there’s a little thing called the Double out rule. It basically states that you need to be home for twice the hours you flew on your last trip. So if you flew 80 hours, you get 6 and change days off before they can send you out again.

Only for those flight hours flown as part of a 3 or 4 man crew. A few months ago I volunteered to stay out on OT as I only had a few days off before having to come back for a reserve day. They wouldn't do it so I went home and got that rsv day off.
