A 7 year SWA Captain makes about 280k on guarantee alone. Without OT . They also have crazy things like Schedules and a CBA that protects those schedules ( and your pocketbook ) very closely.
Anyone in their 30's or 40's, even early 50's, who, If given an offer at any of the Majors/Legacy's and, declines it to stay at Kalitta must have a very "special" set of circumstances...If you know what I mean. :) Stimpy |

Because of commuting, that is not worth it to me, on top of that, upgrade is a distant dream over there. I will be in the next upgrade class, making more money earlier on. I think many people in ACMI have forgotten or never experienced pax flying, commuting, dealing with pax, gate agents, TSA every day, etc. No thanks.

I think that "special set of circumstances" is called being happy. A few years back I would have agreed, but now the pay is good, the flying is good, and you can live anywhere without having to stress about getting to work, or deal with the guy in 23A starting a fight with a flight attendant.

Wait for the next down turn. K4/Atlas/Southern are the shock absorbers of the cargo world. Parking planes, furloughing pilots and downgrading are literally half of the business plan. You would have to be a special breed of stupid to stay at an ACMI carrier over any of the big 4. |

How is Long Term Disability at Kallita? Does it go till 65 years old if let’s say you loose your medical permanitly? How much do you get? Like what’s the cap on the most you could qualify for?
How’s the health care situation? Could they theoretically use you for 32 straight days, and if so does that happen? What’s happens when Connie kicks the bucket? Kids inherit the company? Has Kallita ever fourloughed? Thanks guys, asking because I don’t know and I’m thinking of leaving Jetblue for Kallita. Jetblue is a dump. |
