i (try) tell all my young friends my mistakes and errors and to learn from them. i say try because many only want to hear what they want to believe. i try to steer them into atc. the faa will pay for training , job security, outstanding pay and retire at 55 wth $100k a year pension check ! also a great job with a high demand and growing daily with an ageing population is farmacy. 100 k a year counting pills !
oh to be 20 years younger and know what i know today !!
why anyone in their right mind would spend 150k to go thru e--y r--e
and come out only to be unemployed is beyond me...

Right on! Sometimes the hardest sell is to ourselves. We all would like to see the world as we would like and not how it actually is.

I try to share my experiences as well. Sometimes it works but most of the time it does not.

Can you explain the scenario where an FAA controller retires and collects $100,000 per year in retirement pension?

Remember how wrong the media can be with Airline Pilot salaries, I would take these payscales with a grain of salt. But if these are true representations of actual pay for the different professions, then WOW!
