ATP type checkride or to ATP standards?

I think what was implied was what Part 61 checkrides would be accepted by the FAA in lieu of actually doing one with them to get hired. The 61.58 is a PIC check that they might possibly accept, the other one being someone who just passed an ATP or type ride as proof. I don't have first-hand knowledge of this but just based on last year when FAA was accepting 121 and 135 checkrides due to COVID-19 protocols.

Correct. A 61.58 with Instrument Proficiency is acceptable. Also an ATP check ride resulting in the issuance of an ATP.

USMCFLYR 08-25-2021 03:10 AM

Roger that.
I knew the interview rides and the checkrides at KAFW are conducted to COMMERCIAL standards.

Would the ATP-SE(L or S) be sufficient?

That could be much easier for people to pull off if there's a delay scheduling the flight checks and people don't want to go out of pocket to do their ATP-CTP done. Also, do you know what kind of timeline they're accepting? 12 months in the past? More or less?

Thanks!

It has to be completed within the preceding 12 calendar months and must be in a multi engine airplane.

It's my understanding that FAA ASI's can take checkrides for adding certificates, so long as the ASI administering the check works in a different FSDO. Is there a policy letter or somewhere in FSIMS that can further explain/clarify the process? Thanks in advance.

I posted this two weeks ago in the hiring news section, wasn’t getting any bites. Thought I’d post in here. Thanks…

Hey everyone, looking to get some general info about the inspection pilot job opening that is currently out. Im currently ATC, at a level 12 center about half way through my training, it’s going well but Im not sure it’s really something I want to do long term. The summers can be incredibly draining and many 6 day mandatory work weeks is not ideal. I was was a pilot for nearly ten years before doing this and I really thought ATC was a good option. I have a good friend who currently works FLC and enjoys the work. I have two young kids and I want to know what to expect as far as how many days I can expect to be away from home, how morale is, and if the job gives you a good sense of satisfaction. Most of my time is 135, with a small amount of 121. I was told most holidays off and weekends. How much work from home is involved? Are you required to be at your physical station every day when you’re not on a trip? Those who have families do you feel the job leaves a good balance of work and home life?
Any comments are welcome, just want to get some more info, thanks!

Muuuuuuch better QOL than ATC and being junior at a 121. There is certainly more of a pay ceiling so if pay is less the issue, then ASI isn’t a bad way to go. ASI work is less about the job per say as the FSDO (manning, operators in keep, management, COLA VS actual, etc).

Meatphish -

You are in the wrong thread.
This is an FAA ASI thread.
You are asking about the FAA ASIP position (aka Flight Check)

See this thread:

I appreciate it, I did post in there but wasn’t seeming to get any bites.
