SWA Call......March DB
#2
Lots of painful waiting!
I actually started updating my apps for other airlines to help pass the time.
Normally the calls start going out soon after the DB meets. Sometimes they wait a little before calling (the phone calls for my board did not go out until a week later!)
You will either be called by a CP or by someone in the People Department. They will tell you that you are not hired yet, just passed the next step. You are not an employee until you start training. After the call you will have to do a drug test....and then they start going thru your background check.
Normally the letters are mailed out after all the calls have been made.
Sometimes it is hard to pin point when the DB is meeting. Usually you'll find posts on forums like this where someone heard from a CP when the board is meeting.

Post interview, your first "winning cue" is if they call your contacts. It's no guarantee in any direction but it's a good sign. In my case, they called about half the dudes who put in letters for me. I have heard of guys getting hired without having their references called but I think that's really rare. Then after the DB, you should get called by a CP anywhere from the day after to a week after. Letters usually are about a week to 10 days after the DB.

I interviewed a while ago.....Aug 06. My DB was 12 Sep. The phone calls did not start going out until a week later!.....and I wasn't called until 6 days after that. They went alphabetically with our group, and it was the people department that made the calls....not the CPs. August was an unusual month for them.....this is when they started doubling the interview class size to 24, and they had two DB's that month.
I was called on a Saturday morning. They wanted to confirm my availability. The following Monday I did the drug test. At that point, no news is good news (i.e. drug test and background check came out negative).
Now I'm just waiting for my training date....I'm retiring this month (going on terminal leave)
