Interviews will be held later this month. They've already hired a few folks for their CRJ flying.
As for selling the company off, only time will tell. There are a lot of similarities between Compass and Mid-Atlantic, so who knows. |
I have an application in there. It is for the same reason as the original poster. I would like to be in the MSP area.
With that said, I would be very careful with Compass. It is clearly a ploy by NWA to 'divide and conquer' the pilots. By 'outsourcing' the flying rather than keeping it purely in-house, they are leaving themselves some options and flexibility with furloughs and payscales, etc. Whether or not the flowthrough would really work remains to be seen as well. I would like an opportunity there, but see it as something to be very careful about too unless you can get left seat very rapidly. I am not in the same position as the original poster (with his loads of PIC time) so have fewer options. But I can totally understand the desire to be closer to home and not commute, etc. It is tempting, but use extreme caution because as we all know, NWA plays hardball and unfairly with their employers and vendors. |

I would tend to think that someone with your experience would be putting an unnecessary detour on your career by taking a position with Compass. If you look a little longer term, you may be able to step up to NWA and step back to MSP. V/R, Apollo |
To everyone who is hoping for a flow through from Compass to NWA, It's gonna work as well as the deal with AA and Eagle.

I think I am just going to take my chances and wait for NWA to hire off the street way too risky for me at this point. Maybe 4 yrs ago I would have gone for it. But after 3 yrs I am due a raise, in another yr. Thanks everyone...
