Baggage claim
I have a question. I arrived in Atlanta at a baggage claim to see a lady getting harassed about showing her license to pick up her bag. Well then they moved onto me and me just being dumb decided I didn't want to show my ID. Innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around. So I didn't. Then a whole squad of tsa came up to me and said legally I had to show my ID and that they could call the cops if I didn't. I found no rules about this and I highly doubt that it's true. Does anyone know if there is any specific law on this or regulation? I don't mean to be a dick but you guys know how some of the tsa people are.

Do you look homeless? :P
ATL has a major problem with homeless people taking up residence at the airport, and the city police have been instructed to take no action against them. No idea what rules and regulations exist, but I like the idea of somebody checking my baggage claim tag against my luggage so there isn't either an inadvertent swap or something more sinister at play.

As I recall from previous scenarios, once on the airport property you can be required to produce ID regardless of if you are inside or outside security. I believe its called the Border Exception or something to that effect. Look around as you drive into the airport, there us usually a sign that says beyond this point you and your property are subject to search, or words to that effect. Thank you Patriot Act.

“I had checked a bag to ATL containing 75,000 dollars worth of irreplaceable life momentos. When I arrived at baggage claim I saw a guy walking out with my bag. He jumped in a car and fled before I could stop him. How could the airport be so irresponsible as to allow anyone to walk into baggage claim with no ID and just take bags! Lawsuit will follow.”
