No work around. Keep checking…the FO hiring window will open again.

Default crash pads and commutable trips

Currently there are no crash pads. Both bases Bdl and chs have a Marriott at a rate of 95ish out the door. Tpa has a hotel a bit higher crews have been using. Plan to spend between 2300 to at best case 1200 a month on hotels. If you don’t have a car add Ubers to that, as our trips get back after most hotel vans stop running. Tpa has a 24 hr van service to a few hotels. Bdl and chs do not.

The lack of commutable trips have many on the verge of leaving!

If you live in base it’s an awesome place to work. The planes and people are great.

If they fix the commutablility of the trips, it will be a great place!

Attrition is pretty low, the pay raise back in Oct helped. Most you fly with actually want to be here and see it succeed. The A220 side has had it rough, but at the same time we only have a handful of A220s flying, there needs to be a bigger fleet/operation to have more lines. The Ejet side seems to be in limbo, the charter operation is pretty senior and not many are leaving that but with all the A220s coming, looks like it will be an all charter fleet eventually.

Any idea what the possibility of TPA is right out of training or how long it will take to get TPA? I have a class date coming up soon was trying to get an idea of what to expect.

TPA is probably the most senior base, so definitely not out of training. Breeze bases are tiny so expect to wait a while for TPA, if ever. Unless another FL base is opened, I believe there’s a bunch Of legacy Ejet guys who live down there and will likely go to TPA after they transition to the 220. That will only make it more senior. If you’re not willing to move I’d look at F9 for a Tpa base. F9 has a lot more pilots per base compared to Mx. if you decide to stay, welcome to the team!

Thank you for being very candid and I kind of figured as much. As a follow-up, are there any "New Hires" going to East Coast bases out of training? I do live in TPA and moving (for a long period of time) would not be an option, although, I would consider CHS as a new home. Just trying to make the best decision on the information I'm given. Thanks to all for your input!

I would expect ORF and MSY on the 190 and BDL and PVD on the 220. I believe any base is a achievable except for TPA. But as you must have read in this thread, breeze is not commuter friendly. Amazing if you live in base and horrible if you commute.

Hey guys who are currently flying,

1. Would you know if they are assigning the whole class to a type or is bidding back on the table?

2. Between the two types what are the pros and cons? Does one have a better QOL, hours, organisation etc over the other?

Cheers!

Depends on the class. Some are all single type some have both. Both fleets are growing so I would expect options.

If you’re a commuter I believe the 190 charter is your best bet. Those lines are currently full but they are trying to grow the program. If you live in base, they can be type specific. As far as the flying and QOL neither type is great compared to a legacy or other LCC’s (there’s just not a lot of options) Do you want to rip a 4 leg regional day or 2-3 leg transcon?
