American or Southwest?
Disregard. Wrong thread.

That doesn’t add up either. I could see that if he was a military pilot and AA was his first job. Realized in the first year or so that Pax wasn’t for him.
It’s a whole different story if you’re already at captain and have been flying people for decade or longer. Pilots like to joke about boxes don’t complain, but someone with as many years at AA really can’t use that line. But we all have our wants and needs. Perhaps in his eyes he would be happier. I wouldn’t be surprised if people were getting in his head as well as seeing all the doomsday news about AA and its meltdowns. |

WTF does that topic have to do with this discussion?! First off, are you even at SWA?

The guy that left AA apparently always wanted to go to FedEx. Can’t explain why he waited or if he failed interviews or never got called. Seemingly bright guy. Union volunteer. Online persona did sour a bit and they left social media altogether because the groups got too stupid for him

It’s relevant, because your opinion about OP going to AA or SWA is bias and skewed by your continued bitterness about SWA and AirTran merge. Let it go man, stop being a bitter ex wife. Yes SWA is not a perfect place and definitely needs a better contract, but it’s not all that bad. And yes I am at SWA

I’m trying to figure out what someone like that would have to gain by leaving. I really don’t see it makes sense especially if living in base. He could already be an AA captain with a decent schedule, so what’s motivating him? Toxic culture or fear of bankruptcy maybe? Sounds to me he may not be fully thinking it through

Yeah, I’ve got a buddy that left 20 years of seniority at United for FedEx for two things - vax requirement and company culture. I asked what he’ll do when/if FedEx requires the shot and he said he’ll go find something else to do.
