Gradywhite,

Mike and Sophie Sturgis own the company and are both really nice people. Mike is a stellar instructor. Mike H not so much. Every one else is top notch.

I did the type in January and had few complaints.

While doing the type on the cheap in the -200, there were some XTRA guys in the America West -300. The 300 was only a couple of hundred bucks more but a world away from the poorly maintained -200.

The 200 is owned by a private individual and has seen better days. On a positive note, it does have the 300 flight director and K&S does a great job reinforcing the SWA callouts.

If I had to do it again, it would be in the 300.

Best of luck,

Tonka

I did, thanks for asking.

I hope that with the type you get a fast interview call.

We finished the class 27 Jan and all three of us where in the 12-14 March interview groups.

It was pretty quick turn, but in a way it was good to have enough time to prep but not so much as to over think it (never been my problem).

The Holiday Inn that K&S has a deal with is also a SWA regular stay (at least there were plenty of them while I was there). It's pretty bare bones but the price is good (around 50 bucks).

Watch running at night in the neighborhood if you decide to stay there its pretty industrial.

Grady,

Be smarter than me and actually study ahead of time. I did the online prep and was the only one in my class of 8. Let’s just say I was way behind the other guys on my day one (their day 7).

Best of luck and if you decide to go with K&S and have the GI bill, make sure to tell Sophie ahead of time. If you do, she will have your reimbusement done ASAP.

Best of luck,

Tonka

Gradywhite,

Disregard the GI Bill info, I just read the part of your post about being a civillian. I'm about to be one as well!!

2000 PIC jet was right in the heart of the envelope for interview group!

Believe it. Jumped on SWA a few days ago and was told that PD is up to current resumes now, no backlog. That would temp me to hold off on the type until getting the job offer or you'll be getting a $7K BFR. Good luck, btw.
