What about asking who didn't apply? I think every airline applied. If there's a passenger airline that didn't do it, they're planning on bankruptcy, in my opinion.

SY, F9, NK, and G4 all applied, but also are requesting a waiver for service requirements due to the seasonal nature of some of their flight schedules.

Applying for the money doesn't really mean much. It will be interesting to see which ones actually try to get the money and what the government wants in return. In theory, the government could seek massive stakes in each airline.

I would guess that less than half that apply ever get any money from this. It will likely be cheaper just to declare bankruptcy to reorganize and furlough unnecessary employees without having to give up a large percent of the airline.

TWA, Pan Am, Eastern? I keep seeing Eastern logos every couple of months last year or did that venture disappear?

I wonder what kind of blowback there would be from the public once the media reports that airlines would rather furlough and or declare bankruptcy instead of taking free money to employ them just because they they rather not give stock warrants to the government in exchange. Especially since it’s not unprecedented with the auto companies bail out.
