Do you really think recipients are DEMANDING payments? Rather braggadocios for one who is, perhaps gainfully employed, independently wealthy, or married to a rich wife, or living in your parent’s basement. You do realize money paid is not hoarded by any stretch of the imagination. Funds are used to sustain a semblance of life... taxable... purchase goods.... supports, although in a limited way, the local economy.

Of course they are, emailing their congressmen, seeking support by any means possible to keep their extravaganza going. When Doctors and Nurses are unemployed and making $450 a week on unemployment then why should we as taxpayers support a lavish lifestyle of 10-20K a month for pilots to do NOTHING? The PSP is only prolonging the airline recovery and making it worse off for future recovery. Best to let airlines right-size to the market demand so the6 can rebuild and grow as demand allows. I’m all for giving airlines support money but PSP is a very bad idea and just makes the recovery much longer and adds to massive national debt.

Your period is about to end soon as PSP expires very soon and airlines begin to right-size on Oct. 1st to a deregulated airline industry. Taxpayers will finally get a HUGE reprieve as massive government funded lavish lifestyles for highly overcompensated airline pilots ends.

There were $29 billion in grants for the airlines. That’s about $200 each. That isn’t exactly gonna bankrupt anybody. I realize it’s a bit more complicated than that, but you’re rather dramatic.

I wouldn’t say it’s HUGE! According to 2017 data, which is the most recent I could find, there are 143.3 million taxpayers in the US.
