Downside to buying a nice pen is losing it, no idea where my astronaut pen is...

I have a few nice pens in my bag ($100 range). I enjoy them, but they are certainly a luxury.

I take a deep breath and run what I call the "Don't forget anything" checklist before leaving the hotel room and cockpit. It has helped me hold on to things at a higher rate. I keep my gear in the same place in my bag, and I utilize brightly colored organizational bags for small items.

I am a long haul guy so, fatigue is always trying to ruin my life...

Nothing like a good old #2 pencil.

But can it write upside down?

Problem is ... I can’t find a decent #2 pencil anymore. The erasers are crap also.

BIC has a line of disposable mechanical pencils with 0.9mm lead. Much better, breaks less, easier to read.
