International COVID Layover Restrictions

International COVID Layover Restrictions
**PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS TO THE COVID THREAD--THIS ISN'T MEANT TO BE A DEBATE ABOUT ANYTHING COVID, JUST INFORMATION**
For all you passenger and cargo international fliers... what restrictions does everyone have when laying over internationally? We (FedEx) are pretty much locked down everywhere outside of Europe. We are hearing a lot of rumors of "this airline is allowed out, why aren't we" or "I saw these crews going downtown," etc. Most of this is second hand "I heard from..." information.
For once and for all I'd like to put to rest that other airlines have different restrictions. And if they do, it'd be good to know so we can start petitioning our company to loosen those restrictions (if it really is them being uber conservative).
This is basically what we are being told:
China: room quarantine
Taiwan: room quarantine
Korea: hotel quarantine
Japan: hotel quarantine
Australia: room quarantine
Dubai: hotel quarantine (plus airport terminal)
Does this match up with what you all are doing?

Never been questioned on it until last time when the customs guy asked what I meant. I told him I was going to walk outside to get food. He said that was ok as long as I didn’t take mass transit. The way I see it, as long as the paper I sign says I can leave the hotel to go to the local area I’m good. I’ll add second hand info that London and Sydney are room quarantines. Amsterdam you can go out.

Also does anyone know if the US enforces quarantines on foreign flight crews? Because there absolutely needs to be some reciprocity here. It’d be total BS that even if we’re vaccinated and have a negative COVID test we get chained up and told not to leave the room in London and Sydney while Qantas and BA crews get to hit the beach in LA on their layovers in the US. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander no?

Most of Florida is domestic but every layover in Miami, wouldn’t take much imagination to be in Central or South America. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but Miami feels more Costa Rica or São Paulo than the good ole US of A.

I was in Seoul at the end of March/ early April for 4 days with no quarantine. We sent our handler a copy of our company's essential worker letter and their CDC (or whatever they call it) had us download a special app on our phones (NetJets supplied us with burners just for the app). We had to answer a bunch of health questions every day on the app and that was it. Maybe ask around to see if you can get similar treatment the next time your in Korea- good chicken and beer or bbq may be in your future once again.
