Default Why no A320 “black eyebrows” in US?

I’m just curious as to why no US airlines have the “black eyebrows” around the cockpit on the A320 series? Is it an option or is it standard on newer models? I believe Delta’s A330-900s have them but it doesn’t seems any US A320 series do. Personally I kind of like the look of the design and wouldn’t mind if that was the standard across the fleet.

It has something to do with the new windows and a cooling aspect around the frame. I'll try to find the reference.

Correct. It has a temperature stabilizing effect and will become standard on all busses starting in 2023 or so. I think it looks good.

Delta’s 321neos will have them when delivery starts.

Very interesting in regards to the “cooling effect”, yes that would be much appreciated if you have the link or what not. I’ll try to do a little research myself as well. I’m hoping at NK, ours will soon come, it will be a nice effect with the existing black/yellow scheme.

The A350 XWB is the first ever Airbus aircraft with curved cockpit glasses. These cockpit windows offer more than just the most futuristic, aesthetic and distinctive look. The new windshield enhances the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the aircraft,” said Donna Lloyd, Head of Communication Business Partners at Airbus. “The perfectly curved shape of the nose helps the air flow hug the surface, in the least turbulent manner, thereby reducing drag. The emblematic “Ray-Ban” like black windshield eases the window’s maintenance and contributes to harmonising the thermal condition of this temperature-sensitive window area. The slightly concave nose area (seen from the side) offers the pilots an optimal view of the immediate surroundings easing ground operations and making them safer.”
Airbus put that out, and that’s why all 350s have it. I’ve read that they are not standard, but offered on the 320/330 NEO series to distinguish the new gen from the old gen to mirror the 350, but serve no functional purpose.

Because that shows the company has money!

And when the company has money, pilots want to get paid!!

I've seen these on some Canadian based airlines as well, I forget which specifically, but I know on E-190s.
