Have you ridden business class on a legacy lately? Sure the seats are comfortable but I was on United a couple weeks ago and got a plastic baggie with some crackers and cookies in it. The days of hot towels and conversation are over.
I’m not sure what FAs do much anymore. No alcohol. One half cup of water on a three hour Southwest flight for crying out loud.
It’s never been glamorous but it has gotten downright awful.

On Monday, Delta announced it would invest a total of $1.2 billion in international partners Virgin Atlantic, Aeromexico, and Latam Airlines. All three existing Delta partners fell into financial trouble during the pandemic, but Delta relies on its alliances to provide travelers with a full list of international destinations and was eager to keep them loyal.
Delta after the investments will own a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic, 20% in Aeromexico, and 10% in Latam.

Well, they are. Just depends on what you call "in house." Delta figures if they own a percentage of another carrier, that percent is "in house!"

Try riding first class /business class international on a legacy...service is terrible.. 9hrs one way to Greece and saw the FAs twice. Anytime I wanted anything had to walk to the galley and ask or hit the call button.

When i go international i avoid US carriers because the service is way below foriegn carriers. I ride Lufthansa most of the time.

Consider this. People ride cruise ships because they WANT TO. They put up with flying because they HAVE TO. They dress up for dinner on a cruise (except for Carnival). Does anyone still dress up to fly? Customer service and food is generally A++ on cruise ships. It's F-- on airplanes, especially now. If you want a model for success, follow cruise cruise ships. Hopefully in five years we'll all wear a name tag with our nationality written across the bottom.

Are you saying you’re all for flag of convenience as a model for success?
Also agree on your F - - rating of service.
