Hey we're only woke because our boomer parents forced participation trophies on us! You get what you pay for! :D

I got hired at United in 2000 and have had two long furloughs. In addition, I had cancer and was out on medical for more than 3 years. So out of 22 years at United, I've been on property maybe half that time. So yes, I got mine - much better than what you got. (insert rolleyes emoji)
I was homeless for a while after 9/11; my siblings weren't aware of that and I only told them within the last year.
I took the first upgrade I could, and it was out of SFO. More than 18 years after I got hired.
I got over all of that. I picked myself up, brushed off the dust, and carried on with my life every time I've gotten knocked down. Sans baggage.
I needed a few Stuart Smalley daily affirmations to get through some of that, but I got over all of it. You obviously haven't gotten over any bad thing that's happened in your life.

I see far too many people like you who haul around a ton of baggage and are always finding others to blame for any misfortune along the way.
Crap happened in your career. Got it. You're not the only one. Stop throwing your daily pity parties and turn your attitude around.
You're pulling down more money at G4 than 90% of Americans. If that's failure to you, you've never bothered to look at all of those who are less fortunate than you. And it's not that hard to find others who have had far more difficult lives than you.

But if it makes you feel better, please blame every bad thing that's happened in your life on me. I'll even take the heat for when you got dumped by your first girlfriend.

And FWIW, I never ask any other pilot if they've got their app in at United. If they want to start a conversation on the matter, fine. My FOs do most of the talking on that subject.

Could this guy actually be General Lee of flight info lore? I'm starting to think so.

Aside from that, you'll get no more responses from me. I don't feed the trolls.

No. He is not.

Holy throwback Batman! But I believe the General was Delta.

Allegedly he was.

But true, totally believable.

He claimed he was Delta and crapped on everyone who wasn't. Personally I always felt like it was "too much" to be true and just Jedi level trolling. But Goggles Pisano seems to know he was a real person so who knows. Either way it was a classic and should probably be a chapter in Flying The Line III.

LOL! Whatever makes you feel better.
Feel free to call me every person you hate. I'm also your dentist, the cop that gave you a speeding ticket, etc.
I'm the guy that caused every negative event in your life.

Like I must not have gotten hired because I don't have a degree (Have one!), How many DUIs I have (None!), Failed check rides (Never!), Legal problems in the past (None!). Well then I must not have tried (Nobody hired through the 2000s and then after that I was "overqualified"). I like most pilots of my generation were victims of terrible timing and the lost decade. I've worked for 4 airlines and all my previous ones are out of business. A lot of that was made worse by the generation before me, guys like Andy, that got that got theirs and pulled up the ladder then have the audacity to talk crap to us. Now the woke millennials are in charge of hiring and they only hire their kind. My generation got skipped again.

I’m sorry to hear that, I truly am. There’s a ton of guys who really got hosed on the furlough game of the lost generation. My story is pretty rough too. Is it more rough or less rough? I don’t know. Doesn’t matter. I’ve had a few well meaning people ask me on the jump if Ive put my app in with their airline. It’s not an insult. They mean well. The measure of me isn’t calculated by how much money I make or which uniform I wear. Nobody cares if you were a senator, a CEO or a legacy pilot on your deathbed.

Pretty much. But right up there with fashion sense and ability to manage money, a lot of pilots completely lack social skills and tact.

At the regionals and during the brief ACMI stint I would get asked all the time.

Sadly, the common thread of the asker was 1 of 2 backgrounds.

The young-ish former RJ pilot that was able to fast track (good for them) and is oblivious to the thing known as the dark decade, or the fresh off the military's rectum right to the legacy, who's ALSO clueless on the post 9/11 dark decade civilian track.

^^^^^pretty much.

We're only here for a finite amount of time, with an infinite number of experiences to be had/seeked that we will look back upon as we're doing our death rattle. What uniform I wore, what I flew, where I flew will have ZERO bearing on any of it.

It's really amazing "Andy's" troops didn't frag him back when he was in 'Nam.
