Video is less restricted, but if it includes audio (or if the video somehow discloses the conversation) then the (typically more restrictive) rules for audio apply.

Classy. I thought this thread was about the reprehensible actions of a degenerate DELTA pilot. How about you stay on target instead of making wild generalizations and bashing your peers.

The only thing relevant about where he works is that he'll have to be held accountable by that company. It doesn't matter if it's a Delta, Mesa, or Cape Air Pilot. That behavior is disturbing and disrespectful.

If you mean audio recording, yes in many jurisdictions it's illegal to record without the consent or knowledge of some or all parties. That applies in public or private, unless the speaker is speaking publicly. If two people are having a private conversation in a public park, they still typically have an expectation of not being recorded. Details vary by jurisdiction.

Jennifer Ellis: Hard rules from a lawyer. Lawyers will never give you hard rules because the answer always is, “it depends on the specific situation.” Of course we’re talking about the United States, that’s the first thing I need to say, and the second thing I need to say is when you deal with state law, the laws vary greatly across the country, and then we have federal law, as well. Generally speaking, though, when you are in public, it is legal to record someone, video record or audio record, as long as they don’t have what is called, “an expectation of privacy,” or rather a reasonable expectation of privacy. And generally in public, you do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy and so you can record people.

Great article once you get past the federal wiretapping part. https://laws101.com/recording-me-without-my-permission/

Didn't the "citizen journalist" record the same ass and same legs as perv #1? Is the content of that video any less pervy? Maybe this perv #2 was just getting in on the action and got busted, then claimed "well, I was just documenting that guy's behavior for future prosecution/execution". Maybe perv #1 was actually trying to capture someone else's bad behavior not seen on camera and he is really the hero and the other two are the actual scumbags.
A terrible appearance in any case. Give the guy his day in court if it comes to it. It may well be what it appears to be.

Arguably much worse, because it was uploaded to Twitter for mass viewing. Plus a good chance that if the uploader of the video reached out to the airline, discovery would disclose their name for any civil lawsuits filed.
No one would’ve known about this if the concerned party just contacted the airline directly.

And now we know why you call yourself the “Whackmaster”. I’m pretty sure that cappy Delta sicko at the very least will never ride on FAL again. And most likely will wind up at an ACMI lecturing his fellow crew members on the fact that he was just such an awesome pilot he couldn’t stay at a place like Delta.

LOL. Never thought of it that way.

Oh, on a related note, there's a Company poster of a FA showing her ass and legs in uniform posted up in our Crew Room. I think it's sexist and looks ridiculous - I'm probably wrong though.
