Default Retirement Calculator

I tried searching and could not find it.

Some time ago someone posted a retirement planning calculator that was designed for pilots and had different airline payscales and retirment plans etc.

Does that ring a bell?

Most calculators don't work well for us because we have so much more in retirement than normies. Thanks

Bankrate has a good 401k calculator.

If you are getting a 15 or 16% DC fund you have to basically put the company match at 100% up to 16% of salary. That works pretty well if you also max out your 401k. But it definitely doesn't have pay numbers. I just use what I make now and then set it up for 3% raise per year.

Far from perfect, but it gives you an idea at least

This is the best one I know of for pilot 401k DC plans.

It honestly doesn't take too long to make your own spreadsheet. Just make the following columns: Annual gross, DC, Additional IRAs, total. Throw in a formula that assumes 6% annual rate of return and total everything up. You can always add to it to make it more complex (different columns for different tax buckets, adjusting for inflation at retirement, etc...)

I don’t have a link, but I think you might be referring to Jason Depew’s articles/books. you could search around at The Pilot Network website or find it for sure in the “Pilot Math Treasure Bath” book, where he has spreadsheets that lay it all out.

Wow cool site. Yeah basically like his spreadsheet but someone put a bunch of carriers on a website. Thanks all for responding.
