Hey All,
I will be traveling home from vacation in Dublin, Ireland tomorrow in uniform to return to work and this is the first time that I have done this international travel that wasn’t Mexico, Canada, or the Caribbean. Since there is no TSA Pre or KCM, will I have to ditch all my fluids and the Jameson that I bought here, or will they let me bring them since I am in uniform? Thanks for your time..

You actually clear customs in DUB as well so you declare it right there and no customs upon return, which is NICE!

If you are not a working or deadheading crew member traveling in uniform on an international flight is sometimes not a good idea. Probably ok in Dublin but some stations are going to give you extra not less scrutiny.

I agree with this sentiment. First time coming back from across the pond, I wasn’t in uniform but did have my crew ID out and visible. I can’t say I was given extra scrutiny but I certainly didn’t get any extra benefits for being a crewmember and their version of TSA looked at me and talked to me with a special sort of scorn. I don’t think they like pilots. This was coming out of UK if it matters so it wasn’t some sort of language barrier. In any case, my ID stays hidden now when I come back from Europe. Certainly wouldn’t do it in uniform if I wasn’t working.
