Good thing Congress put the 737 MAX-7 and all future variants on hold, when demand was returning. How many bribes and kickbacks did they get in return for delaying Boeing deliveries so long that buyers had no choice but to go to Airbus, and Boeing indefinitely put their next narrowbody design on hold?

Demand for passenger jets? Certainly.
Demand for Boeing passenger jets? Probably not.
20 years from now passenger jets will be by Airbus, China variants, and Boeing (if Boeing is even bothering with passenger jets instead of just trolling for open ended US Gov military contracts).
Airbus wasn’t thought of much a threat to US aviation when the A300 debuted in 1976. How times have changed.
There’s a better than even chance China will be top dog of commercial jets by then. It’s a mature technology, and the Chinese are fantastic at creating in bulk.
(Been reading reports about China’s embracing of 5G in their factories and shipping ports. The US uses 5G for TikTok. China uses 5G to load/unload super cargo ships is 80% less time with 75% less personnel. LAX ports are an anachronism compared to China. China today is not the China of 10 years ago.)

Hopefully BCA has adjusted their attitude better than the space folks, Orion capsule continues to suffer more self-induced setbacks, no manned flights in the foreseeable future, NASA looking like distancing themselves are possibly ready to cancel. Meanwhile in Brownsville... SpaceX is running rings around Boeing, regular manned launches for 1/3 the price.
EDIT: Correction: Starliner, not Orion.
Maybe the .Gov fraud, waste and abuse market is simply more lucrative and more aligned with their corporate values than private-sector products, which actually have to fly and be certifiable.
It's sad to see what's become of a once-great American institution. Wish we had a barf emoji.
