Can Airbus take advantage of Boeings slipups?

Should? Yes.
Heck, what are the books for 330neo orders?
Slow that line and ramp up the 220 if able. Seems lots more 73 operators would go to the 220 if AB can shift gears and make it happen for needy customers.

I sure hope they do. Boeing, subsidized by the US government via military aircraft sales (sadly all over due and full of problems: KC-46, V-22 Osprey, the regurgitated "new" F-15 EX Eagle, etc) deserves that they have market share taken by a competitor.

They have to get the commercial aircraft thing right if they want to survive, since it's the only thing making them money. Whether they will or not is another question entirely.

Boeing loses money on its military division. 20 seconds of research could have gotten you that data.

Airbus has been taking advantage of Boeing for years, they've led and expanded their lead significantly over since 2000.
I seriously wonder if BCA isn't planning to just milk the max for every nickely they can, call it good, and exit the NB market.

The USAF just cut in half the T-7 buy for 2025 - no doubt figuring Boeing still won't have it ready for production by then anyway...

They have had the contract since 2018.

It's bad when those not flying Boeing Aircraft start to brag about it...

It should. Although competition is good for the customer. For those who say "I hope only Airbus remains" let's see what they'll have to say when their employer tells them theny need cutbacks because the new aircraft they bought were expensive, because the discount was laughable (and why would a monopoly offer discounts anyway?) So it's good to have BOTH companies alive and well.
