Not really.

so if I am some poor Spirit pilot jumpseating on AA how do I know which captain I’m getting on this flight?

The kind that’s gonna chew my ass out for not checking in or the kind that’s gonna chew my ass out because I did check-in and bothered him?

I know you are a troll. You know how I know?

You're gonna get the captain that pretends he doesn't see you at the gate and lets the gate agent close the door on you.

No need to check in for a jumpseat if you have a seat in the back, I've done it 3 times this past year and haven't been called out on it.
I've had a few people do it on flights I operate and I prefer it that way. I don't want to talk to or see your face.

None of those 3 times were when I was the captain. And IDGAF what you prefer. My company requires me to check your credentials, regardless where you are sitting. If you would walk to the back without checking in, I would walk you back out. Especially with your attitude.

yes but before do, make sure they don’t have a confirmed seat. I have had some other airline pilots DH on my flight before. And thank God I made sure they weren’t jumpseater a before I accosted them or I would of been embarrassed.

Absolutely. And with a smile:"hi, just checking, are you NR/PS/DH or JS?".

I don’t know about others systems, but I can see if there’s a company jumpseater listed. And I always ask before I go down as well to see if anyone offline listed as well. Pretty easy to know if one does not check in.

And I probably would not know he was even on the "jet", because I am definitely not the uniform police. But BitterAAhole just does not sound very likeable.
