Make airline pay longevity based only for raises and I think you'd see that. Many of the international carriers do just that and the long distance flying is generally the domain of the newer employees.

Name an FAA rule that isn’t arbitrary.

The enforcement of that one can be quite arbitrary.

yeah, no. They didn't get hired with 250 hours. They didn't even get into 121 RJ without an ATP and thousands of hours to begin with. They didn't get to a legacy without ever having been a CA someplace else. They didn't get to a legacy without ever less than 8,000 TT. They actually had nobody get out of their way, ever.

Absolutely nothing factual in this pathetic post.

OK, fair point. What's the one that requires pilots to actually have certificates and training? I'm going to say that's not really arbitrary...

True but the training requirements (that the certificates are based on) are. 1500 hrs is safe. 1499 is not….completely arbitrary.

If you wanted a not arbitrary retirement age you would need continuous medical monitoring. Maybe it could ding like an egg timer when it decides you’re done. “Ding”

Could be fun. Every time the bell rings my seniority gets wings.

It sounds like you're describing GenX more than what you think you're describing.
