Question Delta app question

What exactly do they mean when they ask if your ATP written is current IAW FARS? Do they just mean it was taken within the last two years? Mine was 7 years ago but I already have an ATP.

Also would you list IOE time as a check airman as dual given or just call it PIC?

They are just asking if you have taken the written and not the ride, is it current. Also, if you have taken the written and are working for a 121 and possibly 135 carrier there is no expiration on your atp written.

Default Another Delta application question.

For those who have applied to Delta, how many recommendation contacts did you enter (vice references)? And, if you have interviewed, did recommendations play a significant role? How about recommendations from within Delta?

Thanks in advance.

5 Recommendation letters:

2 Internal Delta FO's
1 Current Commanding Officer
2 Former crew members

I also listed all those that provided me LOR's as "references" as well as several other "references"

Split S,

Thanks for the info. Where did your interview fall in the time between application and availability date? It seems Delta interviews/hires within a month or two of an applicant being ready to start.

4ff - You are correct on your time frame estimate.

Having a good mix of LOR's from internals, IP's who have trained you and your current Manager/Commander is important. Make sure your internal Delta LORs use their internal Delta.com e-mail address.

Split S had a very good mix. I can see why he got the call, follow his lead for a similar good result.

- Application submitted right before 1 Jan 07 with availability of 7 July based on military terminal leave
- Got the invite to interview email on July 10th, and interviewed in July
- Cleared to train 1 week after interview
- Hoping to be notified this week with a class date either for end of Aug or early Sep

I've extended on active duty in the meantime to keep myself gainfully employed until Delta offers me a class date.
