Default Ryan International vs Compass

Anyone out there have current info on Ryan International Airlines out of RFD or. Got a class for a 757 FO with a type in training. Also, have a class at Compass with one year upgrade. I have a Boeing type rating with plenty of FO time but lack jet PIC.
Will have to commute to Ryan whose bases change every bid period and will live in base at Compass when they open them. Ryan is at least a 2 year upgrade, most likely more, and they have a bad reputation for QOL. They sell a 7 on 7 off schedule but have heard it isn't always the case.
NWA/DAL could mean I flow out of Compass before my 30 months?

Any current piltos at Ryan out there? Good, Bad, indifferent?
Thank you for the input

Wow, did I ever get an earfull from an FO about how bad Ryan was to work for. Schedule was irrelevant because they called you all the time to fly anyway, you risked your license every time you flew because they disregarded things, low pay, expected you to jumpseat instead of giving you positive space to every place, training department didn't know what they were doing, etc. I don't know anything about Compass but I'm tempted to advise you to go to Ryan just long enough for the type rating then take a later class date at Compass. And keep your resume current trying to get a major to call.

I think the guy said he already has the Boeing type. But I have also flown with an FO that worked for Ryan. He also worked for Evergreen. He said that Evergreen was a better run company and had their act together more than Ryan as far as international operations are concerned.

And if anybody knows much about Evergreen, thats not saying too much for Ryan.

Boeing type rating? Which Boeing? If it's not the 757, go get the type and then quit and go to Compass. Aren't Compass guys getting a seniority number at NWA? Not that it's worth anything, but still something...

I guess I should have mentioned that I worked at Ryan for 3 years, and although the upgrade was quick then, I don't think it is now. My FOs back in 2001 are still FOs now. There are better places to work than Ryan, that's for sure.

Negative Ghostrider. If, and its a really big IF, there ever will be a flowup, whoever flows, will then get a # at NWA and will be at the bottom. Compass is just like Mesaba, both owned by NWA, Inc, but both separate airlines.

do you have any idea what the flow through says in the event of a merger?

I work at Compass. Not much in the contract about flow through during a murder I mean merger. The flow works both ways. The senior guy at Compass could be on the street if NWA pilots flow enough people down!!!

Thanks for the info so far. I'd like a 75/76 type also but not at the expense of training and leaving. If I delay class at Compass the one year upgrade looks longer and longer if not two or who knows. Nothing really about merger protection at Compass and with a projected 360 pilots it doesn't take much of a dent at NW to wipe it out clean. 30 months before you flow through or get flow over rights. Almost ready to get out a coin.
