Default Aa 787?

Going back to a May 31st post, any updates on that "massive" AMR aircraft order from Boeing expected at the Paris Air Show?

I'm a 767 FO at AA. We are in contract negotiations and our contract expires May 1, 2008.
We know nothing about aircraft orders.
Our Mgmt appears to be waiting for the next gen 737 replacement.

LAN (Chile, Equador,Peru, Argentina) ordered 25 787's this month and said it would also purchases 10 more from Leasing firms.

I know nothing!

Actually, it becomes amendable. It does not expire.

They will use a 787/737NG order as a carrot dangler in the eleventh hour, as they've always done. Screw 'em! I'll glady fly the -80 the rest of my career for the right pay/work rules. 73

Yes, I won't be lured into a concessionary contract for any reason including New Airplanes.

Flew with a FO just back from furlough. His charm farm reception by AA brass indicated that AA wants to wait until there is a new plastic narrow body on the market--preferably from Boeing, that dovetails with the 787 (common type). AA only has purchase rights for the 787, no orders or options, which means they can walk from a Boeing deal with little or no financial penalties.

The 737 replacement plan for the MD-80 is only a stopgap measure. AA doesn't really want them. If Airbus beats Boeing to the punch on developing a carbon fiber narrow body, then we'll be flying Airbus'. Either way, AA will be flying MD-80's long after I'm gone.

I think they've thrown away the carrot, they're just using a stick now. I don't care what AA orders, so long as they restore my pay.

Here Here!

When I first got on they said the S80 would retire in 2016. And you'd DHD home on a 727. LOL They really said that.
I think the 2016 is looking...
