An airline pilot accused of stalking neighbors, egging their homes and smearing feces on their homes entered a no contest plea Tuesday.
Wayne Giles, 46, flew for Spirit Airlines for six years.
"He's been harassing my parents for at least eight years," said Lynn Smith whose parents live near Giles in Farmington Hills.
Several other Farmington Hills residents that live near Giles said they have been tormented for several years.
Smith said her parents, along with other neighbors, started to receive letters.
'What's going on? Pick up any **** off your steps lately? This is just the beginning you ****, it will get worse. I'm back in full force, I just love to **** with you. You're not working much anymore, so I give you some work in your front yard. How do you like picking up watermelon and cantaloupe?'
Smith said her parents' house was egged, feces was smeared on their car and left on a paper plate on their door step.
Julie Stockel said she was also stalked and received 15 sexually explicit letters from Giles.
'Take off your panties and leave them on your desk, I'll get to them later. I saw you Wednesday evening on Orchard Lake Road, you looked right at me and didn't even wave. That was really rude. I wish you could figure out who I am, but I know you have no idea.'
After investigating the claims, police arrested Giles in July.
"They were threatened by the letters. They had no idea who it was," said Lisa Gorcyca, of the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
Giles admits he wrote the letter and has written apology letters to his victims.
His apology letters were read in court on Tuesday, as well as a plea for leniency.
?I just want to apologize to them for what has happened and for everybody that was involved,? said Giles.
When asked why he did it, he said, ?That?s a good question, if I knew I wouldn?t be here.?
Spirit Airlines told Local 4 Giles is no longer an employee with them and his employment was terminated. He was also forced to move out of his Farmington Hills neighborhood. Giles will be sentenced on Oct. 2. He will serve between two to five years in prison.
