No matter what happens at AWA/USAir, their integration will never come close to the unprofessional, one-sided extermination of TWA employees raped by American and their 'unions'. No single event in airline labor history even approaches what AA/APA/APFA did to TWA's people, after combining the two carriers.

Disgusting.

The Ceo has already said he will not accept a combined seniority list that either staples one group below another or goes strictly by date of hire ( which would be an effective staple of the AWA pilots). The merged list will be the result of ALPA merger policy which, if we can't decide ourselves withing 6 months, goes to an arbitrator.

What we have heard is this announcement of the pitfalls of the merger was to chill the stock price a little, to manage expectations for investors and probably for labor as well. All work groups will have contracts to negotiate real soon. Pilots are already in contract talks now.

Good luck, Mike. You and your guys deserve a fair shake. I think it'll turn out okay.

Thank your stars you were'nt bought by an unprofessional and ruthless company like AA. You'd all be out of a job.

Thanks. Who knows how this will all play out. We have an ex TWA guy on our merger committee and he brings some painful experiences with him.

I remember a guy from my previous life who left to go to AWA and then left AWA for US Airways. Obviously, he was subsequently furloughed.

Doh!
